Terms & Conditions
This contract is between (1) Mourne Scan Clinic (“we”, “us”) and (2) you, the Client (“you”), and shall be governed by the following terms and conditions of sale (“Conditions”), none of which affect your statutory rights:
1: SERVICES:
We provide pregnancy ultrasound scans including early pregnancy, reassurance, dating, gender, anomaly, growth and 4D.
General scans including, upper abdominal, pelvis, renal, soft tissue, testes, groin, thyroid, carotid, venoscan, abdominal aorta and fertility scans.
Musculoskeletal scans including, shoulder, knee, elbow, hip, hand, wrist, foot and ankle.
We accept self-referrals and those from medical professionals.
We also provide genetic screening , this test is undertaken by a health professional in our clinic. This is sent to Medicover (NIPD Genetics) laboratory. The results will be available in 10 days.
All scans are completed by trained healthcare professional who are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.. They have previous experience working in NHS , HSE and private clinics. If another sonographer is employed to perform ultrasound scans at Mourne Scan Clinic, they will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have sufficient qualifications, skills and experience to perform scans to the same high standard.
For pregnancy scans, the health and wellbeing of your baby will be checked at every scan. Depending on what type of scan you have booked, we will check the size of your baby, check for multiple pregnancies, detect any anomalies, show the position of the baby and the placenta. If we detect any problems with your baby’s development we will discuss this with you. If necessary, we will refer you to an NHS care provider for further investigation.
For general ultrasound scans, we will undertake the scan that is requested based on the clinical history you have provided.
With your permission, we will send a report to the relevant medical professional.
For musculoskeletal scans, will undertake the scan that is requested based on the clinical history you have provided.
With your permission, we will send a report to the relevant medical professional.
If we deem the scan is not suitable after clinical history is taken, you will be informed and advised to contact your medical provider.
2: MEDICAL HISTORY:
At each scan, we will ask you your relevant medical history. However, we do not have access to your full medical history and therefore cannot provide medical advice relating to any diagnosis. We will always refer back to your relevant medical professional.
For pregnancy scans, we strongly recommend that you access all antenatal services made available to you by the NHS.
3: METHOD:
We aim to complete your scan abdominally but we may need to undertake an internal (Transvaginal) scan. You have every right to decline an internal scan. If you decline an internal scan, however, you accept that we may not be able to provide you with conclusive information. We will discuss this decision with you beforehand.
4: MODIFICATION:
We reserve the right to modify or improve our service without prior notice.
5: PHOTOGRAPHY & RECORDING:
Please ask for permission before any photography or recording is carried out in our clinic. You will receive printed images at every pregnancy scan.
6: AGE:
If you are under 18 years of age, a responsible adult must accompany you to your appointment.
7: RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES:
If you wish to make a change to the services, please contact us. We will let you know whether the change is possible.
8: PRICE & PAYMENTS:
We reserve the right to modify our prices at any time and without prior notice. We accept payment on debit or credit cards including Visa, Mastercard. We accept cash payments.
When booking, a deposit of £30 will be require to secure your appointment.
9: INFORMATION WE REQUIRE TO PROVIDE SERVICES:
We will need certain information from you to provide our services. We will ask you to complete a short form when arriving to our clinic.
This information will be primarily identity based and relevant medical information.
10: CANCELLATION OF THE SERVICES BY YOU:
a)If you wish to cancel your appointment, we request a 24 hour notice period.
You will need to contact the clinic to process the £30 deposit paid.
b)If you do not attend your appointment, we reserve the right to hold your £30 deposit.
(b) Re-scheduling is permitted. This can be done via phone call, email or social media channels.
(d) We may, at our discretion, offer additional service guarantees outside of these terms and conditions, for which we reserve the right to modify without prior notice.
11: CANCELLATION OF THE SERVICES BY US:
We may cancel or re-schedule your appointment.
Such cancellation or change would only occur in emergency.
If this occurs, we will give you as much notice as possible and re-schedule your appointment as soon as possible.
12: WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE FOLLOWING THE SCAN:
Where relevant, after your scan you will receive a scan report via email within 48 hours.
After your pregnancy scan, you will receive printed images. In the case of a 4D scan, you will receive a USB pen with images.
13: OWNERSHIP OF THE PRODUCT:
We retain copyright of any images that we take. Ownership of the report shall belong to you once we receive payment in full for the services.
Images can be requested, if necessary for relevant medical practitioners.
14: WHAT WE CANNOT GUARANTEE:
We endeavour to provide you with the best images at the time but these may be affected by your baby’s position during the scan.
If we cannot provide the purpose of the scan due to positioning, you will be offered follow up scan.
For gender scans ,we will do our best to identify the sex of your baby but we cannot guarantee the accuracy. This can be affected by baby’s position.
We accept no liability for any incorrect indication of your baby’s gender.
15: OUR LIABILITY TO YOU:
We shall not be responsible or liable for any injury, loss or damage to personal belongings whilst you are in our premises. We are only liable for our failure to comply with these Conditions and accept responsibility for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable or not caused by us breaking the contract.
16: DELAYS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL:
If we have to delay or amend the date or time of your appointment due to an event outside our control then we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know. For example, if we have technical issues, changes in law or regulatory requirements. We will not be liable for delay.
17: HOW WE USE YOUR DATA:
When you attend for your appointment, you will be asked to fill out a form to ascertain some identity data, personal and contact data.
This will be used to label your images and to provide a report if needed.
We will only share information with medical professionals with your consent.
Consent and understanding of privacy policy will be documented on your first appointment.
No financial information is stored.
